Providence Police Sgt. Maxwell Dorley LODD

April 19, 2012 -- It is with deep regret and sadness that the Providence Canteen announces the Line of Duty Death of Providence Police Sgt Maxwell Dorley.

Sgt Dorley was responding to assist fellow officers in a disturbance call in the city's North End when he was involved in an auto accident.

Sgt Dorley, a 15 year veteran of the force, is survived by his wife and two children. He "was a great officer, a family man," said Colonel Hugh Clements, who said he is close to the late officer's family.
